The French Hospital Medical Center (FHMC) Foundation is proud to announce more than $43,000 was raised for patients and hospital services during the fifth annual Golf and Tennis Tournament, The French Cup. More than 145 members of the community participated in the tournament which was held Monday, June 13, 2011 at the San Luis Obispo Country Club.
The event featured a golf tournament, a women’s doubles tennis tournament and an awards reception. Since its inception in 2007, The French Cup has generated more than $240,000 for FHMC’s programs and services. The winning foursome of Leonard Cohen, Ann Paredes, Al Carlin and Bryce Wagner took home the highly acclaimed French Cup trophy, created by Malcolm Demille, who designed the PGA Tour trophy. In a captivating matchup, Carol Hall and Jennifer Sansone won the tennis tournament.
Nipool Patel served as chair of the French Cup planning committee for the fourth consecutive year. David Arrona, Carol Brown, Melissa Iftiniuk, Betsey Kelton, Patrick O’Hara, Tracy Ronca, and Angela Soll also served on the committee.
The FHMC Foundation hosts a number of fundraising activities such as the annual golf tournament to support patient services and hospital programs. Foundation funds also help purchase new medical technology, bringing the most recent advancements in medicine and health information to our community and raising the level of quality care provided close to home.
