A new comprehensive cancer center is coming
to San Luis Obispo

Offering treatment and hope to local cancer patients, all under one roof

French Hospital Medical Center, Dignity Health’s Central Coast oncology services, and local physician groups are partnering to establish a state-of-the-art, 58,650-square-foot comprehensive cancer center in San Luis Obispo (SLO). Construction is currently underway and the center is projected to open in early 2027.

For the first time in SLO County, this facility will bring all cancer care under one roof—streamlining team-based care, enhancing patient convenience, and elevating local cancer care and treatment to a new level. Centrally located in SLO at Tank Farm and Broad Street, services will include diagnostic imaging, medical oncology, hematology, infusion, radiation oncology, general and oncology surgery, urology, and French Hospital's Hearst Cancer Resource Center.

Physician groups partnering with Dignity Health and providing services at the center will include Urology Associates of the Central Coast, Associated Surgeons of SLO, Pacific Central Coast Health Centers, SLO Oncology & Hematology, and more.

Community support needed

Help bring advanced cancer imaging technology to the new center

The French Hospital Foundation is currently raising crucial funds to support advanced cancer imaging technology for a new, dedicated imaging center location within the new cancer center. The new imaging center will expand local access to cancer imaging services, reduce wait times, and bring the most state-of-the-art cancer imaging technology to our community.

High-quality imaging technology is fundamentally transformative for cancer patients, providing crucial insights for every stage of their journey, from early detection through treatment, to long-term survivorship.
