2016 Louis Tedone, MD Humanitarian Award Recipient

 French Hospital Medical Center was proud to present the 2016 Louis Tedone, MD Humanitarian Award to Dr. Gilbert H. Stork. Dr. Gil Stork has dedicated his life to education and community service. His tenure at Cuesta College spans 49 years which is a testament to his passion to quality education. Gil began his career at Cuesta College as a physical education instructor and, in 2011, became Superintendent/President. A Cal Poly honored alumnus, he has been an active Rotarian for 30 years and currently serves on the board of directors for several community and state organizations, including the Economic Vitality Corporation, Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center, and the California Community College Athletic Association. His accolades include the 2000 San Luis Obispo Chamber of Commerce Citizen of the Year, 2004 Cuesta College President’s Award for Excellence in Leadership, and 2011 Cal Poly School of Education Friend of Education Award. With wit, warmth and a strong willingness to help others, Gil has demonstrated a lifelong commitment to the health and wellbeing of our community. He is an extraordinary community leader who continues to make a lasting impact on our lives every day.
