The French Hospital Medical Center (FHMC) Foundation is proud to announce the establishment of a Cardiac Care Endowment Fund with a gift of $500,000 by a donor who wishes to remain anonymous. The endowment fund will provide new technology, equipment maintenance, and supplies to ensure that San Luis Obispo County has access to the highest caliber of cardiac care.
The Cardiac Care Endowment Fund is the first of its kind in support of the award-winning Copeland, Forbes & Rossi Cardiac Care Center at French Hospital. It was established in recognition of the excellent reputation of the hospital’s cardiac care program and the need to assure that its excellence continues for years to come. An endowment is a permanent fund which is invested, and the earnings are used to support a specific purpose such as cardiac care.
For the second year in a row, Thomson Reuters recognized FHMC as one of the Top 100 Hospitals in the United States for Cardiovascular Care. FHMC has also received a 5-Star rating for patient quality outcomes related to the treatment of heart attack from HealthGrades, the leading independent healthcare ratings organization. This is the second consecutive year French Hospital has been recognized for excellent outcomes for heart attack patients, making it the best rated in the San Luis Obispo and Paso Robles Region for cardiology and ranked among the top 15 % in the nation for the treatment of heart attack two years in a row.
“The establishment of this endowment will leave a lasting legacy of caring for our cardiac patients. We are forever grateful for the enormous generosity of this donor and for the ongoing support of French Hospital by our community,” states FHMC President and CEO, Alan Iftiniuk.
The Cardiac Care Endowment Fund welcomes additional donations to support the health care needs of the community. For more information on the endowment, or to contribute to it, please contact the FHMC Foundation Office at 805.542.6496 or email
