COVID-19 Testing Protocols for Gala Guests
After consultation with local medical experts and acknowledging the drop in COVID cases in our community, we will no longer be requiring on-site rapid testing to attend the Gala. Instead, we now require that all attendees take a self-test the day of the event from the comfort of their home:
- Self-Test on September 24:
If you have a rapid test at home, please take the test on Saturday, September 24 only, before attending the event. If you don't have a rapid test at home, we will provide one for you - call the Foundation at (805) 542-6496 to schedule pickup. Please take the test on Saturday, September 24 only, before attending the event.
- On-Site Testing:
If you are unable to take a rapid test at home on Saturday, we will administer a test for you upon arriving at the event.
- In lieu of self-testing, you may choose to get the current COVID-19 Pfizer or Moderna boosters from your local pharmacy. The current booster more effectively protects against the latest viral variants, including Omicron BA.4 and BA.5, the most dominant virus strains in the United States. Note: you must receive the current booster on or before September 19th or a self-test will need to be completed regardless of booster status.
By attending the gala, you attest that you have taken a self-test and that the test produced a negative result, or you have received the current booster.
Should your test result be positive, we kindly ask that you stay home to rest and we will gladly refund your ticket. We are not requiring masks to be worn at this event; however, if you are more comfortable doing so, masks will be available upon request.
Thank you very much for understanding. As your local hospital, the safety of our guests and community is top priority. We look forward to a great event!
